Lake Las Vegas is not actually in Las Vegas. It is in Henderson, an award winning city known for it’s family features and values. Lake Las Vegas is sometimes referred to as Lake Las Vegas Resort. But it must more then just ‘a resort’. It is a destination all on it’s own.
The actual lake is a 320 acre man made lake surrounded by just under 3,600 acres of high end, up scale luxury homes. With 10 miles of shore line, the lake offers many recreational activities. Originally conceived in 1967, it was not substantially developed until the 1990s after going thru a series of ownership changes.
The development includes three resorts / event centers, but several closings and re-openings, plus bankruptcies and other legal actions keep the players constantly changing. Two championship golf courses with fantastic lake views from tees and greens also are with in the development.
With low end homes starting in the mid-$300s, up to upper $700s for starters, Lake Las Vegas is not going to be a normal first time home buyer’s target. Builders include William Lyon, CalAtlantic, Pulte and Century. Custom lots are available for those that want to truly write their own legacy. Lake Las Vegas is also one of the top 5 most expensive ‘areas’ in Las Vegas Metro. Lake Las Vegas should not be confused with either The Lake or Desert Shores, tow other Las Vegas Valley man-made lake developments.
